Infant and Toddler Educator - Competition #47

Are you eager to work in a high-energy childcare centre where the results of your efforts translate into healthy, happy children and families? The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre is currently looking for a full time Infant & Toddler Educator for our Colwood Pacific Activity Centre location. Hours of work for this position are 7:30-12:00 and 1:30-4:30.

As an early childhood educator, you love what you do, and you’re excited to plan, carry out, and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities designed to encourage learning. You’re responsible and mature—a natural nurturer with a child-centred approach and experience working with babies and toddlers. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills mean you’re at ease interacting with parents, community members, and fellow staff on a daily basis.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • A valid Provincial Infant Toddler Educator’s License to Practice.
  • Current First Aid Certification.
  • Documentation in accordance with Community Care Facilities Branch licensing requirements.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues that affect children of military families.
  • A valid driver’s license (class 4 license a plus!)

Out of School Care - Competition #48

Are you looking to work in a high energy childcare centre and have a positive impact on military families? The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre is looking for a part-time Out of School Care employee to work at our facility in Colwood.  This position is approximately 25 hours per week Monday through Friday.  The required shifts are 7:00am to 9:00am and 2:00pm to 5:00pm daily. Personal transportation is recommended due to limited bus service.

This position requires at least 20 hours of childcare related education in areas such as child development, health and safety, nutrition, or guidance. Suitable applicants must also be 19 years of age, hold valid first aid certification, and have experience working with children.  Previous experience working with children with behavioural challenges is an asset. You will be responsible for planning daily activities, and providing before and after school care for children.  A doctor’s note of good health and a criminal record check are conditions of employment.
