Casual Child Care Worker - Competition #59

Are you looking to work in a high energy childcare centre and have a positive impact on military families? The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre is looking for a casual child care worker to work at our Centre in Colwood. The position is for 23 hours per week. The required shifts are Tuesday and Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm, Friday 8:30am-12:30pm, and Saturday 8:30am-12:30pm. Personal transportation is recommended due to limited bus service.

This position requires at least 20 hours of childcare related education in areas such as child development, health and safety, nutrition, or guidance. Suitable applicants must also be 19 years of age, hold valid first aid certification, and have experience working with children. Previous experience working with children with behavioural challenges is an asset. You will be responsible for providing safe and appropriate care for children between the ages of 6 months to 5 years. A criminal record check is a condition of employment.

Children's Services Coordinator - Competition #61

The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is looking for a Children’s Services Coordinator to work full-time, Monday through Friday, out of the Colwood location. Under the direction of the Program Manager, this position will be responsible for the development, implementation, management and evaluation of all programs for children twelve years old and under, including all childcare programs and parent support programs.

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • Degree in the social service field with a focus on early childhood development and a minimum two years related experience in the children’s services field
  • Background in program development and experience in workshop facilitation
  • Knowledge of regulations governing licensed programs
  • Supervisory experience

Information and Referral Assistant (Term 1 Year) - Competition #60

The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is looking for an Information and Referral Assistant (Term – 1-Year) to work at the front desk of our Colwood location. This 1-year term position is for 24 hours per week. The required shifts are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 2:30pm-6pm, Wednesday 2:30pm-9pm, and Saturday 8:30am-12:30pm. Personal transportation is recommended due to limited bus service. Please note the second last paragraph for applicants interesting in job share.

This position acts as the building receptionist while providing information and referral services to customers: both in person, and over the phone. Responsibilities include providing information about the MFRC’s programs and services, administrative tasks, collecting payments, completing registrations, and assisting coordinators with ongoing projects, as required. This position requires an approachable, customer service oriented individual who would enjoy providing assistance to military members and their families.

This position requires at least 20 hours of childcare related education in areas such as child development, health and safety, nutrition, or guidance.  Suitable applicants must also be 19 years of age, hold valid first aid certification, and have experience working with children.  Previous experience working with children with behavioural challenges is an asset.  You will be responsible for planning daily activities, and providing before and after school care for children.  A criminal record check is a condition of employment.
