MFRC Short-Term Counselling

Our social workers can assist individuals, couples and families

The Family Wellness and Counselling team includes a committed team of highly trained professionals, including Registered Social Workers and Counsellors. Team members understand the unique aspects of the military lifestyle and are committed to supporting families navigating experiences such as deployments and postings.

Individuals from the age of 5, couples, and families in need of support can access timely counselling sessions in a confidential place at the MFRC. Registered social workers and counsellors can provide short-term counselling and personalized support for military lifestyle-related issues including:

  • Mental health support
  • Relationship issues
  • Parenting challenges
  • Coping with challenging situations

We also provide appropriate community referrals linking military families to local community supports to best meet their needs.

We encourage you to connect with us to see if we can help or if a resource in the community is better suited to provide assistance.

Appointments can be made by contacting the MFRC Information Line and leaving a message.  You can also reach a social worker via the Intake Phone Line or email.

If you have a virtual counselling session, there is also a list of tips for clients on how to prepare.
