Greater Victoria has excellent employment agencies and the MFRC is fortunate to have great working relationships with them. If you need help finding a job, we recommend that you get in contact with the appropriate agency in your community.
If you need employment assistance related to being a military family member new to the area, we have trained staff to provide guidance on gaining meaningful employment. There are also employment workshops and employer information sessions from time-to-time hosted at our facility in Colwood.

Reimbursements of some expenses
Using the BGRS Guide, you’ll be able to register and manage your relocation. You may be able to get reimbursed the cost of some expenses related to the job search of a military spouse/partner when relocating in a new community.
The number of weeks for which you are entitled to receive employment insurance is based on the unemployment rate of the community to which you are moving and the amount of insurable hours you have accumulated in the qualifying period. Please consult your Employment Insurance Office to learn about the current unemployment rate of your new community. Visit Service Canada for more information.
