Information and Referral Assistant (Casual) - Competition #76

The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is looking for an Information and Referral Assistant – Casual to work at our Colwood and Signal Hill locations. The MFRC is looking for someone who is available on Wednesdays from 6:00pm-9:00pm and Saturdays 8:30am-12:30pm and who can fill in on a casual basis for a variety of other shifts. Shifts may vary within the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:30am-9:00pm Wednesday, and 8:30am-12:30pm Saturday. Personal transportation is recommended due to limited bus service.

This position acts as the building receptionist while providing information and referral services to customers: both in person, and over the phone. Responsibilities include providing information about the MFRC’s programs and services, administrative tasks, collecting payments, completing registrations, and assisting coordinators with ongoing projects, as required. This position requires an approachable, customer service oriented individual who would enjoy providing assistance to military members and their families.

A criminal record check will be required as a condition of employment for this position.

Out of School Care Worker - Supported Care (Term) - Competition #72

The Esquimalt MFRC is looking for an Out of School Care worker to work at our Centre in Belmont Park, Colwood for the 2019-2020 school year (September-June). This is a one-on-one supported care position funded by VIHA with hours between 22.5 and 27.5 hours per week. The required shifts are Monday – Friday between 6:30am to 9:00am and 2:00pm to 5:30pm daily. Rate of pay for this position is $19.00 per hour. Personal transportation is recommended due to limited bus service.

This position requires at least 20 hours of childcare related education in areas such as child development, health and safety, nutrition, or guidance. Suitable applicants must also be 19 years of age, hold valid first aid certification, and have experience working with children. Previous experience working with children with behavioural challenges is an asset. A criminal record check is a condition of employment.
