Special Mailing Instructions

The following vessels are approved to receive mail at this time:

  • HMCS BRANDON
  • HMCS CALGARY
  • HMCS REGINA
  • HMCS WHITEHORSE
  • HMCS NANAIMO
  • PCT Cougar
  • PCT Renard
  • PCT Wolf

Customs forms are not required on any parcel, but parcels must contain a list of contents, a return address and phone number.

Local Care Packages:

For the week of May 17 to 23 2020, there will be No Mail pick at the Naden Canex Parking Lot.  If you have questions or concerns we ask that you contact the Fleet Mail Office directly at 250-363-2176.  Check back for updates.

Parcels may be dropped off every Tuesday (until further notice) between 3:00pm and 6:00pm in the parking lot in front of the Naden Canex (located at 1343 Woodway Rd, Victoria, BC V9A 7K6).  It should be noted that the Canex is closed, so these timings are firm.

Normally the following items would not be permitted, but since the mail is not travelling through commercial means, nor is it travelling through Canada Customs, the below mentioned items are permitted if dropping off in person.

NEWLY PERMITTED (IF DROPPING OFF IN-PERSON):

  • Tobacco products and vape juice;
  • Liquid and aerosols (packaged to prevent leaks) such as shampoo, shaving cream, hairspray
  • Perishable items (fruit, cured meat);
  • Batteries (fluid, lithium);
  • Zippo lighters

Any items that are prohibited by Canada Post but are permitted in local care packages must be noted on the package and mentioned to the member receiving the packages at Canex Parking Lot.

The following items are not permitted to be in parcels dropped off locally, or mailed through Canada Post.

NOT PERMITTED IN ANY CARE PACKAGE (DROP OFF OR VIA CANADA POST):

  • Alcohol;
  • Cannabis;
  • Illegal drugs; and
  • Weapons 

Packaging:

  • Packages must be in a sealed box or container.
  • Loose items, or items wrapped in bags will be rejected at drop off location;
  • Wrapping supplies will not be provided on site at drop-off; and
  • All parcels and letters must contain the full and correct mailing address.

Mailing packages via Canada Post:

The following items are strictly prohibited by Canada Post:

  • alcohol, beer and wine
  • tobacco products, cigarettes and cigars
  • weapons, including replicas Knives
  • explosives, radioactive materials or ammunition including inert ammunition
  • matches
  • flammable liquids or solids
  • compressed gas, aerosol cans (i.e. shaving cream, air fresheners, etc.)
