MFRC Podcast Launches

The Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre will launch a podcast on Wednesday October 9, 2019. “The Military Lifestyle” explores deployments, postings, and transitions through interviews with MFRC staff, experts in the community, military members and military-connected family members. The goal of the podcast is to help people prepare for that lifestyle and all that it might encompass. The hope is to reach people that might not traditionally come through our doors or who don’t have the time to get to a workshop at the MFRC.
It is about meeting people where they live. People live, stay connected and keep organized through their smart phones or devices. People are also busy and military families are increasingly living everywhere. You don’t have to worry about registering and getting to a workshop at the MFRC. You can download each episode and listen to it offline, on your schedule.
Episodes will be released every Wednesday starting October 9th for a 14 episode season. People can subscribe for free on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher or wherever they get their podcasts. Episodes will also be available for listening on the MFRC’s YouTube channel and at the MFRC website. Each episode is between 20 to 30 minutes in length and is hosted by Jon Chabun, the communications and marketing coordinator at the Esquimalt MFRC. Funding for the first season of the podcast is made possible by a grant from True Patriot Love Foundation. The MFRC also collaborated with Organized Sound Productions, a podcasting company based in Victoria, B.C., to help create the podcast.
Please share this news with a military family in your life or someone you know living the lifestyle.
